Recruitment Manager

Job Title: Recruitment Manager

Reporting To: HR Director

Location: Cheltenham with extensive UK travel

Duration of contract: Permanent

Job Purpose: Reporting directly to the HR Director, the Recruitment Manager will act as lead in all recruitment activity across the Company. They will help determine the Stevenswood recruitment strategy to ensure that the Company attracts the best talent and builds a talent pipeline that exceeds the current and future business requirements. They will proactively promote Stevenswood as a great employer and leverage all possible opportunities for direct hiring.

Key Tasks:

  • Develop the recruitment strategy to ensure a talent pipeline that exceeds current and future business requirements
  • Develop and rollout attraction strategy, working closely with marketing colleagues to ensure effective use of branding and appropriate mediums, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc
  • Provide insight to market activity in relation to employer branding and employee value proposition
  • Develop and rollout effective selection methods and apply continuous improvement methodology to ensure success
  • Maintain and input to development of Applicant Tracking System
  • Advise new branch opening team on labour availability on assessment of potential new branch locations
  • Coaching, developing and mentoring hiring managers
  • Developing a direct recruitment model – working with HR Director and marketing team, you will seek to maximise direct hiring and minimise agency reliance
  • Monitors and constantly reduces all costs regards to recruitment and resourcing
  • Improving quality of new starter process, with overall objective of reducing early attrition
  • Focus on continuous improvement and service excellence
  • Monitor labour legislation and implement change to keep processes compliant
  • Build key relationships with relevant bodies, such as Job Centre Plus, recruitment agencies and job boards
  • Working with HR and hiring managers to ensure we have a competitive and cost effective new starter on boarding process
  • Manage vacancy approval process and agency PSLs – ensuring performance is achieved and service is value add
  • You will also have project responsibilities and be a go to expert for all things recruitment

Person Specification:


  • Appropriate recruitment qualification or demonstrable experience operating in mid-senior level recruitment role
  • Ability to travel


  • Experience of significant growth and new branch openings
